This dramatic, two hour adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic tale, "Enemy of the People has been updated to reflect our current times and the issues we are currently facing. The story is more modern, but the age-old themes of corruption and greed still reflect Ibsen's brilliant play.

Synopsis:
A brilliant doctor and research scientist tries to warn his home town about the dangers inherent in the polluted waters of their public baths. His efforts are blocked by greedy politicians who wish to avoid blame for the unsanitary conditions of the public spa. With the desire to continue to profit off the dangerous Baths, the town power mongers leak false information to the local media, discredit the doctor, and get him branded as a public enemy.

Description:
This two hour play, Enemy of the People, features 2 powerful male roles, 2 strong womens' roles, and 4 solid supporting male characters, with an expandable ensemble chorus of actors who play the townspeople. Good for middle and high school students. The hard copy version is 8 1/2" x 11" in size with spiral binding (which lets it lie flat on a desk, when opened) and color cover.
