Students will love the rich characters and supernatural tone of this classic holiday story, A Christmas Carol, one of the best Charles Dickens novels. And they learn a wonderful lesson at the same time about the true spirit of the holidays.

Synopsis:
 The main character of the A Christmas Carol play script, Ebeneezer Scrooge, is a miserly old man who hates Christmas and whose heart has turned cold since the death of his business partner and the break-up of his engagement many years ago. It takes an nightime encounter with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future to help Scrooge see the errors of his ways and start celebrating the holidays in the true spirit of giving and compassion.

Description:
 This 25-30 minute one-act play script of A Christmas Carol features a large narrator part, which may be broken up among several actors, 1 strong male character (Scrooge), 2 good male and 1 good female supporting characters with many smaller supporting roles and a possible chorus which is expandable in size, depending on the number of students to be cast. The original production of this A Christmas Carol childs play script was done as a radio play with a middle school bi-lingual class to help enhance English literacy, but has been performed as a fully staged production as well. Good for middle and high school students. Can be intergenerational, as there are both strong adult and child roles. Production ideas for sets, costumes, etc.
