The demands of leadership; the qualities of honor, courage and perseverance; the overcoming of temptations; and the successful achievement of life objectives against overwhelming odds are vividly addressed in this Greek theatre play script which will delight students with both action and many layered themes.

Synopsis:
 After their victory over the Troy in the Trojan War, the Greek king Odysseus sails for home. He has angered the God Poseidon, however, who keeps him from home for another 10 years, by throwing one obstacle after another in front of him. After a storm blows him off course, Odysseus has adventures with the Lotus Eaters, the Cyclops, the Enchantress Circe, the Land of the Dead, the Sirens, the Straits of Scylla and Charybdis all on the way to getting home to his faithful wife Penelope.

Description:
 This 45-minute one-act play script is designed perfect for a middle or high school Ancient Greek theatre production. It is as an ensemble show, in which a company of eight or more play all the roles, switching from one character to another within the play. It features 4 exceptionally strong male characters and 2 strong female characters (though in many cases, gender is really interchangeable) with at least two more smaller supporting roles. There is also the potential for several choruses (which can be played all by the same actors or by a variety of classes) and which are expandable in size, depending on the number of students to be cast. Good for elementary, middle and high school theatre production (and adults) from the 4th grade up. The hard copy version of this one act play script is 8 1/2" x 11" in size, with spiral binding to lie flat on the desk when open, and with color cover.
