History will come alive for you, your cast and the audience in this retelling of America's story, starting with life with the Native American Indians up until the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. All the familiar events, The Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and Paul Revere's ride highlight the tensions leading up to the American Revolutionary War.

Synopsis:
Early American history is retold as Tom Jefferson, Ben Franklin and George Washington narrate. Starting with the life of the Native Americans, we see the arrival of the Pilgrims, unrest in the colonies, the secret meetings of the Minutemen, the Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, Paul Revere's ride, the wartime espionage of the American women, the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the surrender of General Cornwallis at Yorktown.

Description:
This 45-minute one-act is designed to be done by several classes of actors under the storytelling of three mature narrators (Tom, Ben and George). It features 3 strong male characters in many cases, several choruses (which can be played all by the same actors or by a variety of classes) and which are expandable in size, depending on the number of students to be cast. As there are totally silent parts pantomiming to the narration, this script has been done by a combinations of classes from Early childhood, up through elementary, middle and high school, too. The hard copy version is 8 1/2" x 11" in size, with spiral binding to lie flat on the desk when open, and with color cover.
